CV
Hey, I’m Yar
Barcelona-based Design Director with hands-on experience in UX/UI and visual design for 15+ years.
As an team leader of a cross-functional department, I have gained broad expertise and painful bruises in making products in BigTech. I have expanded my design expertise to product management, UX research, business analytics, community building, and crafting educational courses for designers. I believe I have a lot to share.

I do workshops, lectures and mentoring on ADPlist and Duo Sapiens.

My passion is crafting meaningful products that impact people's lives by saving them time for essential things.
I'm rooting for minimalism. Simplicity provides clarity and coherent structure to user scenarios, products, operations, workflows, and even organizational structure, freeing space for new initiatives.

I love to design data-driven products where the decision-making process is based on user feedback and quantitative data, considering feasibility and accompanied by strategic vision.

I'm a critic, I'm here to elevate processes across design development and focus on how to make my teammates struggle less.
I believe a human-centric approach is profitable. Make your customers happy, and they will be willing to support your product.
I have experience revealing and answering user needs at any stage of product development by crafting a vision from scratch, organizing operational work, executing ideas, ensuring feasibility, measuring impact, processing feedback, managing stakeholders and defining growth strategy.
I'm pleased to have graduated from Stroganov University in 2010 with a Master's Degree in Graphic Design.
It gave me the basics and the opportunity to learn from many great people. Here is the video with a retrospective of student projects I've made as a pre-diploma project using DIY elements and stop-motion.

After university, I opened a design studio with my partners, which taught me many life lessons. It's still alive, by the way, though, without my participation. We were mainly focused on branding, identity, and websites.
I believe in a lifelong learning, so I'm constantly in self-development.
I started in graphic design, then moved into web and UI design, focusing mainly on applications. At Sber, I honed my leadership skills—first managing designers, then researchers, writers, developers, and product owners—gaining experience as a manager of managers. Organizing meetups helped me sharpen my presentation skills and build charisma.

Now, I’m adapting to a new country and culture, working and speaking in English, and along my family learning Spanish and Catalan.
I'm passionate about traveling to new countries, parenting, photography, drones, hiking, snowboarding, and how to stay focused and efficient in this whirlpool of opportunities.
Feel free to write me if you are interested in my experience.
